    One requirement of the system font that this page doesn’t mention is that it has to remain readable after clearing half the pixels in a checkerboard pattern (that’s how the OS grayed out menu items that weren’t available). That’s what gives Chicago its unique style: all the vertical stems are two pixels wide.
