I answered his poll saying I would consider paying more; but really I just hope for another laptop option with the sturdiness and aesthetic of a Thinkpad (a line he specifically called out on X as a problem because of its China origin).
Is the implication here that his laptop won’t be 20% better? Also, windows machines are cheaper than Mac right? So is it a machine that should be 20% cheaper that’s actually 20% more expensive? I.e. 40% differential?
Laughing my damn ass off. I wouldn't pay that much for a solar-powered RISC-V laptop with native BSD and Linux drivers.
