This seems to be a UI on top of the FindMy.py library.

I always worry if these will get the account banned at some point.

Also the page says own your tracker, but if we’re using someone else’s network, are we really owning anything?

Yeah if you value your Apple account don't touch these projects with a 10 foot pole.

If you have a project and the title and subtitle of the post about it are:

    <punchy name>: <noun>, <past tense verb>

then please take 10 seconds to reword it.

"UptimeChecker: Baby's first SaaS, implemented with 900 unit tests"

"Andre's Steakhouse: Fine dining, cooked au sexuale"

"Dogdos: Sex toys for your dog, delivered to your door"

A lot of people will just ignore it and they won't see the valuable work Claude spent a handful of your 5h sessions performing.

Reverse engineering is a field where AI is actually quite useful, but if there was anything interesting about the project, you'd still expect a human to write the readme and subtitle to prove that. You could just say "I used AI to reverse engineer Apple's Find My." Using the raw AI title betrays that there was absolutely no human oversight and the project was pumped out by an HN content farm.

It's not even about human projects having higher quality, it's just a spam filter.

…or that the person responsible doesn’t speak English (well enough to audit the quality of English prose), but had the AI write the code (and prose) in English anyway, for TAM reasons. In such cases, the person responsible probably read back the README and title the AI gave them, and “from what they can tell” it says what it they wanted it for say, so they approved it.

(I’m not 100% sure this happens with entire repos, but it certainly seems to be an increasingly-common explanation for entirely AI-prose-populated PRs and demo sites.)
